Albizia Steam Sweep
Protecting Mānoa’s streams through community Albizia removal and education

Annual Albizia stream sweeps help protect Mānoa’s waterways by removing invasive saplings and educating the community on early monitoring and removal methods. Led in part by Scott Snider, volunteer groups move through stream sections while learning how to identify young Albizia, safely pull saplings under 18 inches, and use ring-barking techniques that gradually eliminate larger trees without cutting them down.
Another sweep is expected this year. Stay tuned for more information.
