Charter Amendments 13 & 14: Historic Preservation on Your Ballot
Election Day: Tuesday, November 3, 2026

This year’s ballot includes 20 proposed amendments to the Honolulu City Charter. Two of them relate directly to Mālama Mānoa’s mission to preserve the history and natural beauty of our valley:

Question 13 would allow the City’s Clean Water and Natural Lands Fund to also be used for historic preservation, rename it the Land, Natural Resources, and Historic Preservation Fund, and share proposal review with the Oʻahu Historic Preservation Commission.

Question 14 would raise the amount the Fund can spend each year to care for and maintain the lands it acquires, from 5% to 10% of the previous year’s deposits.
